Creative outlet

Greetings and Salutations!

I have decided to try something new, something sort of unexpected and not my usual thang. I'm following two inspirational quotes. "When was the last time you did something for the first time?" And, "If it is to be, it is up to me!" I have had a lifelong love affair with, and an appreciation of music. I felt the need for a creative outlet. My work doesn't allow me to be too creative, so it's time to be startin' something!

Influences

My friend PJ, (who is a fantastic guitar player, fine musician and fellow music freak) said I had to include a HUGE Bowie section if I started a blog. I can't think of any other artist who has influenced me more. I mean, David Bowie changed my life quite simply. I was going along, living a quiet "normal" suburban life in 1974, as a 14 year old, good student, Daddy's girl "surfer chick" when I discovered Mr. David Bowie. This lead me on a path to finding ALL KINDS of "alternative" music. It's been called "punk" and "new wave" "grunge" etc. I don't especially like labels, but will use them so you know what I'm talking about. I've always just called it "new" music. Bowie started it for me and I've never been the same. Thank God! He's always been ahead of his time and fantastic!!! Bowie is my Hero.

  1. Hey, I figured out how to follow your blog via yahoo. HOORAY! Anyhow, words don't describe David Bowie's musical versatility and fluidity. Simply said, he is a seminal artist in every sense of the word. I am so glad I have a new computer at home so I can actually watch, listen and learn from you, Leslie! Congratulations on this blog! 2. Yours is my first comment! Welcome, my friend!
I meant to tell you yesterday that you could follow via Yahoo. Do you remember going w/ me to buy Bowie tickets once when two of my friends who were w/ LBPD pulled me over just to be funny? This would have been in 1983...
Yeah, Bowie is the man! There will be more of his music to come!!
