The Same Old Scene

I am currently not working so I have a lot of discretionary time. It is liberating at the same time that it is debilitating. I try to compartmentalize my life so I can have fun and relax & enjoy life's simple pleasures. Like bike riding, taking photographs of cool street art, gardening, hanging out with family and friends, listening to music. Great music is a god send! I downloaded this album a few days ago. This is one I've had in all forms: Vinyl, cassette, CD and how digital download. I guess next it will just play directly in my head via microchip! It's Roxy Music, considered to be an "Art Rock" band, they are fabulous to listen to, and this song is an old favorite. Call me a cynic, but it's true, "nothing lasts forever, of that I'm sure!" Love this album, Flesh + Blood.

Beautiful, heartbreaking Bonnie Raitt song. I'm going to get to see her LIVE this summer at the Greek and I can't wait! Great Music at a great venue, who could ask for anything more?

Night Swimming

Reminds me of nights "allegedly" swimming at Mayfair Pool after dark. Sometimes avec a swim suit, sometime sans... Too much fun was had by all, on carefree summer nights, we didn't have to break in or hop the fence, we had a key! Couldn't find a night time picture, sorry!

This song literally drove me to tears today. I was driving around doing errands when it came on the radio. I guess I was feeling emotional, but this song is so beautiful, and it got me was feeling sad. I want someone to feel this way about me, and I was feeling like it would never happen again. At least I get to go see Frampton Comes Alive in March at the Terrace Theatre!

GO ELTON!!! Goodbye Yellowbrick Road is one of my all time favorite albums! Soo many great songs off this ONE record, amazing! There's nothing like seeing EJ live, on a Saturday, when you hear the drums, then the guitar riff that start off this song! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

What are words worth?

I love this photo, and I love this band! The Tom Tom Club are making their 2nd appearance on my blog. I used to hate this song until I LISTENED to the lyrics closely. I think it's the chorus that I thought was silly and annoying...
Chris and Tina were ahead of their time! Plus they are just about THE BEST rhythm section EVER! Dig the groovy beat AND it makes ya think! What are words worth?
